Human Impact Negative vs. Positive
Humans have been positive and detrimental to the temperate grasslands. This can be seen from two different viewpoints. From the first viewpoint some see humans as being harmful to the grasslands. They say we are disrupting monarch flying patterns, building houses, building where animals would live, and hunting animals for their resources such as food and fur. Many people also look at humans as negative to the habitat because of pollution. Pollution can cause animals to get caught in trash and also litter the places the animals call home. On the other side people view humans as a helping source for the environment such as conserving endangered animals of the grasslands. Humans also lead many successful conservation associations protecting our wildlife and maintaining a balance. Some conversations include protecting grasses from invasive species and using technology to take them out of our habitat, while others include protecting animals. Protected species include bison, this animal is a protected species due to hunting in earlier years. Bison were almost extinct but due to protection efforts they remain on conservation land and are illegal to hunt. Conservation lands are protected areas where you can not hunt or build. Humans also help with the growth of new wildlife by having controlled fires. These fires burn off old dead plants and allow new plants to have a chance to get sunlight and start a new life cycle. Fires also release nutrients back into the soil and create a natural fertilizer. Humans for many years have been harmful to the ecosystem, but in recent years many beneficial strategies have been put into place trying to protect and rebuild wildlife
